4th Annual Jazz and Friends Concert

Litchfield Jazz Festival presents “Jazz & Friends,” its fourth in a series of annual afternoons of music and fundraising fun for the benefit of Litchfield Jazz Camp Scholarships.  Over the last 17 years Litchfield Jazz Camp has granted over 20% of its students need-based scholarships annually.

Granted funds are vulnerable, and ours are no exception with significant cuts in available funding in recent years. As a result we endeavor to raise support for our most in-need students at events like Jazz & Friends. Our goal for this event is to raise $18,000-$20,000 for scholarships.

A special thanks to our hosts, pianist and Jazz Camp alumnus Emmet Cohen for donating his services, our outstanding Litchfield Jazz Camp students for showing you their stuff and WNPR’s News Director John Dankosky for volunteering his time as our celebrity host!. Emmet will give you a peek at what to expect when he opens Litchfield Jazz Festival 2013 on Friday August 9 with his trio.

FUNDRAISING EXPERIENCES: Get in on the chance to purchase small-group experiences, including cheese-making with Kim Thorne at Thornecrest Farm, a cooking class and tasting with noted chef Chris Prosperi (Metro Bis, Simsbury), and a private jazz concert and wine tasting at Miranda Vineyard.  Details here.

Please join us, have a wonderful time and help make this event our biggest scholarship success yet.
